yeh and this way you can get rid of it now and you won't end up with it in your pond next year causing a big algae bloom .I read on one sight that people who take there fish out for the winter and put there fish in an indoor pond over salt there ponds and poor peroxide in them for the winter and run the the water down there waterfalls to clean them good and then say with the rain and snow over winter this dissapates and they run it again as soon as they can in the spring to clean it out again and then test the water and do a few water changes before they put there fish back .I geuss they have had luck doing it year after year .I found it through google and stories seemed interesting so had to read the whole thing

Do it now as algae never really dies .I found out thats how they make algae wafers for algae eaters >They leave the algae dry out and then compress it, as algae is not dead when it is dry ,it is just dorment

Hmmm, you just gave me an idea. I have these algae eating shrimp and some cory's that eat these algae waffers that I buy. I was thinking that maybe I should take some and freeze it then I could just drop it in the tank for a treat.

the only thing about that you may not know what you are introducing into your tanks .The algae wafers they grow is very differently grown and the algae is sterelized and dehydrated .I know with my snails I am adding algae covered rocks from the pond ,but the snails will live in the pond .I know pet mountain had the algae wafers on sale .I bought some just to add extra for the snails
