Yups it is a dragonfly. Night bloom buds are precious real estate by day time for the clattering squadrons of the fly swats.

Only two blooms? Awww. I shall post a few spares. Howsabout a few frilly ones.

Golden club is an aroid that likes aquatic conditions, you might say it is a 'marginal' plant, Euryale ferox, the Gorgon plant is a waterlily

I have looked at golden club a few times, it is supposed to be good down to 5 zone. Maybe it will be my new plant of the summer next year, if I remember lol

You might best establish Golden Club late Summer, as like aquatic iris, it likes to be well rooted before it does its best, blooming the following Spring.

Night bloomers are a treat in climates where day time heat makes a pond a difficult place and blooms by night are preferable...
