That is the main reason I went with laguna pumps ,energy savings .We get peak energy use warnings for Danville utilites but I am at the lowest end of electric use .House is all electric .I set up online use warnings but have never even come close to even a third of use .Led bulbs I bought at habitat for humanity 3 dollars for 3 each uses 2 to 5 watts .

Laguna running my falls right now. It's a 4000gal or something one. Not sure how much power it is using but heard they were supposed to be energy savers.

Are you folks, that are getting electricity usage warnings and audits, in regions where electric heat is predominant instead of gas furnaces?

It's the opposite here, in the summer the electricity usage goes way up.

Everything off as of the end of October, no matter what the weather is doing. Not back on until sometime in March. The fish do fine, I like the lack of running water for a bit. And at times we are not around to worry about the ponds and I don't want our house sitters to need to worry about them.

Last year we shut down in September, not back on until late March, the fish did fine, turn the pumps back on within a few days crystal clear water again.

Ice coming and going. 25 currently. pond 37

Here all we have available is electric or propane or oil .Propane tanks scare me with all the hunters around here .Neighbor lost his propane tank to a hunter .If you want it in the ground that costs extra for all the leak protection devices that have to be installed ,plus the cost of install .Just got my electric bill and it was 138.27 and 17 dollars to pca and taxes 12.38 and that includes Henry County and Pittsylvania County .The reason for that is I am less than a mile from the Henry border and most of Axton is in Henry County and that costs me 3.88

I took the pump out after the local utility did an audit and determined it was the pump that was causing our above average electric bills
When my pump was going bad my electric bill doubled. Got a new pump and usage went back down.
