Nice rocks!

Thanks, I do believe I am short on rocks in regards to the bog though. Looks like I may need to purchase (4) 32 gallon Aquablocks to not break the bank on purchasing more rocks. I was really hoping I could get away with filling the entire bog with rocks, but filling an a 7ftx7ftx4ft hole with all rocks requires more then what I ordered. I do have alternatives sources for gathering more rocks from family to get it to completion.

Remind me where you live. California? Around here, filling that hole would cost about $500 max including delivery. At 4’ deep, though, aquablox are a good idea. Stacking plastic pallets could also work really well for very cheap. Milk crates, too. That’s what I chose to use.

I live in Northern Virginia. Rock is roughly $150 a ton and price is also subject to the rock type.

Been raining non-stop here. Decided to stay dry in the garage and construct the bog plumbing.

@GBBUDD I am looking to do the same as you in regards to the stone from 4-6 to 3/8. I am nowhere on your scale of what I need, but I went ahead and ordered 4 aquablocks which should get me to where I need to be.

Anyone have recommendations on underwater led lights that have a warm color?

I have been eyeing the ones in my link since you can get them on Amazon and I have had pretty good experience with the Volt brand in the past.

Progress update today. My father in law is selling his house soon and had an old koi pond setup. he told me I could take whatever I wanted so I picked up some paver stone to build my retaining wall and some other choice boulders and nice flat stone. I plan to disguise the paver stone with natural looking stone once the wall is complete. I Was able to build up the bog/stream/waterfall walls. I also was able to start rocking in the bog, but had to pump out about a foot of water from all the rain we’ve had lately. May make another trip tomorrow to pick up some more stone from my father in laws, but for now I’m spent. Time for ibuprofen and beer lol.

I take no offense @GBBUDD and would like to hear your thoughts. I am pretty stubborn at times and do understand what I am doing most likely goes against the "standard" pond building techniques.

Since this is a garden pond forum. Figured I’d share my parents pond on here. Needless to say it’s a lot bigger then my tiny pond, but hey you have to start somewhere in life right?

also, if I do get 2 or 3 Koi and they get to large or breed my relocation solution is simple lol. I get not everyone has this luxury so I agree with everyone in this forum deterring people from keeping koi in smaller ponds.
