Try just plugging in the power supply kit by its self and see what happens

If it trips by it self its messed up

If it stays on , Plug things in one at a time to see what trips it

If you plugged the power supply kit in by itself with nothing else plugged into it then the power supply is causing it to trip. There is probably a short or something that is wrong with this power supply. Try plugging the power supply into a different outlet and circuit and see it it trips that one too, if it does it is definitely defective. If you just purchased it I would return it and get another one.

i have completely dismantled the kit. where the first wire was connected to the outside wire it had some water in.

it has now dried out, but still when i plug the 1st wire, via the rcd, it still trips, even though it is not connected to anything.

if water has got into the wire would this be a cause of it tripping the system?
