Carp for weed control?

Hi, I am up in Southern Ontario, Canada, and have a 1/4 acre , 7 foot deep pond. I am finding out how invasive pond weeds can be, and have manually pulled and cut much already. I have primarily milfoil, curly leaf pondweed, and sago pondweed, along with some generous clumps of muskweed alge.
We swim regularly in the pond and the water clarity is at a good 4-5 feet depth. We have rock bass and sunfish and chubs/minnows as the other wildlife
Would a single, large common carp (not asian carp) make any difference in weed control? Would more be needed? Would introducing several carp be adding other problems? ( water clarity issues, over breeding , ?) Would carp even eat my type of weeds?!
Thanks for any input.

good questions . i do know my koi will divour MOST PLANTS no clue on any of your plants but i do believe the asian sterilized grass carp are probably your best plan of attack.

fountains and aerators are also tools in fighting pond invasive weeds

Augur Lake in Keeseville, NY had a very bad problem with Milfoil and introduced grass carp as GBBUDD mentioned. I have heard that it was very successful...You might want to look into getting a few:)

Koi would be prettier to look at. Though it will be obvious they are not native fish. :)
