Most all the deer here will run when they see a human. Had 3 in our yard a few years ago that I had to chase away waving a dish towel tho! I love seeing them but please don't eat my stuff. I hear they don't like blood meal.

Really like your pond's look. Do you mind if I copy your paint scheme for the bridge and bench?

Thanks @Chumley . And of course you can use the paint scheme, but you must post pictures when you are done!

We get a lot of deer, they come out of our woods (which we never go into). Snack on the plants and head back. Usually they don't do enough damage for me to even notice. Between them, the rabbits, the ground hogs, surprised we even have any flowers remaining, but they seem to do fine.

I quit counting or worrying about them years ago. The deer are munching on the day lily flowers. But some they can't reach. These yellow ones are HUGE! and of course one of our plant munchers cute lil baby bunny. IMG_1594.JPG IMG_1596.JPG

So happy to see my pink water lilies blooming. I don't usually get many flowers from them.

I have a flower bed along the side of the garage that is all pink and purple flowers. I ordered a real pretty pink flower to replace one I didn't like very much. It just bloomed. Look at what I got instead. Ugh.

That's funny ! What will you do with it? I had 13 water lilies in bloom yesterday, never happened before. Until the new ones from addy bloom, mine are all white.

Holy cow. And I was so happy with four. :) Take a picture and share!

I have no idea what I am going to do with an orange flower. I hate to get rid of it since I paid so much money for it (with the shipping and all), but I really don't want orange. If you lived closer I could give it to you!

Love your pond and everything around it!
Does Liquid Fence work on chipmunks?

Ha! I just came back from the store with a new plant - this time it is PINK. Moved that orange out front for the deer to eat.

    Thanks @Gemma .
I went outside to read what it said on the back of the Liquid Fence container. It doesn't mention that it would work on chipmunks.

I have gotten so many good ideas from this forum.
@haver79 posted a picture a couple years ago of her pond in August and it is gorgeous so it motivated me to change out some of my plants so I could have some color later in the year.
I also did not have good growth of my water lilies until people here suggested that I plant them in kitty litter. Very happy with my lily pad growth now.
Others posted about the birds using their stream and it got me to thinking that there was no place for the birds to get to my pond because it is netted. I placed some rocks in the water fall box this year and sure enough I am getting many birds taking a drink.
And lastly, since @addy1 has been posting about her bees, I have planted some asters and more liatris this year.
Here is my pond today from my patio window.

hey T i take offense to that .But I feed and provide water for my deer and they only steal the apples they can reach off my apple trees .I don't think they like plums or peach's because they don't touch them .They love me and love watching me mow the grass .I provide them with bedding also in the woods and they provide me with babies in the spring that I can enjoy watching frolic in my yard . a day of deer 001.jpg
