What is the best way to clean things like nets and other equipment like test tubes. I have a quarantine tank set up with new fish and don't want to anything to get in pond.

Quarternary Ammonia is probably the best all-around disinfectant/sanitizer that can be used. It is a powerfaul viricide which is most important considering the spread of CyHV3. As with all chemicals follow instructions and use with care.

Smaug there is nothing wrong with a bit of bio security on your QT system and nets my friend and since the onset of CyHV3 [KHV] and CyHV2 [GHV] biosecurity is a must.....
Marsha I did an article some time ago now on biosecurity for nets see link :-

https://www.gardenpondforum.com/articles/bio-security-for-nets.28/

In our biosecurity of nets and VAT's in our shows and in biosecurity of our nets we use a product called virasure which comes in tablet form see link :-

It is recomended that you keep a container capable of taking your biggest net full of virusure ready for use at any time a large bin would normally do the job but it must be kept secure at all times when not in use
I hope this helps you

Wash and dry, nothing lives on a dry surface very long. For my net I simply leave it in the sun. Test tube cleaning, really?
Yup really, I now have 2 quarantine tanks up and my pond and don't want nothing hitching a ride from one tank to another when I am checking water.
