It seems that the deer have been enjoying wading in the bog, and eating the iris. Also, there's some moss growing there as well.

THe deer here, Wade the bog, eat lily leaves, inhale every bud on the day lilies.

We have had large herds running the yard, largest count 24 at one time.

Deer here just ate an entire bed of emerging tulips. Never bothered them before. These must have looked especially tasty and I was so looking forward to their spring display. Maybe next year.

I had over 100 tulips planted, two years of flowers, then a deer snack. All gone, never came back.

Hope yours do!

There were over 400 in that bed, so I really hope they aren't gone for good! So sorry yours didn't come back.

I do have another bed of them that is now covered with row cover to protect them. Not quite as many as the other, but almost. I'm going to be very diligent with keeping those safe now.

I hope the deer at least got a belly ache from eating all of those!

Whenever I hear people go on and on about how wonderful it is to see deer, I think "really? Do you enjoy your landscape AT ALL?" They are so so destructive. Not to mention it aint fun to see one approaching when your car is going 70 miles an hour. Rabbits, deer, squirrels, chipmunks - none are a gardeners friend!

They can certainly be irritating at times, but we still enjoy seeing them every day. Just have to take more precautions with the plants.

We grow most all our food and I get a lot more aggravated with garden pests than I do with the deer. They are much more difficult to control, at least here.

Sling shot works for me as of late . The ground hog comes along and if he gets close to the pond OTHER than at the cistern. I'll let them drink there they get a bee sting in the ass
