Hello there. New to the forum, I’ll post some pictures of the natural pond we’ve just done in the other thread.

We planted at the end of April and most of the plants are doing really really well. We lost most of the astilbe during a hot spell but about 50% the Dutch rush is looking terrible and I am not sure what to do.

Pictures attached, wondering if anyone has any advice? It’s brown, soft and floppy and some has a grey tip.

Should I cut back the brown bits or leave it for a bit longer to see if it sorts itself out. The pond is very new so maybe this is normal?

Some plants just don't like the heat or direct sun light . I'm not sure on that type

My rush took a year before it really looked good. I just trim off the dead parts and, as long as new shoots come up, it will survive. If no new shoots, then its probably dead.
