I am somewhat finished painting. My weakest point is painting just can't get it to look like rocks to my liking.

Looks good to me too.

Use the sea sponge to add some highlights to the rocks, the darker ones some lighter color, the lighter ones some darker colors, very lightly applied, texture looking color

You have good variation in your colors already.

I wonder if he put grout in one of those mortar pastry bags and squirt it between the faux rocks that would make it look different .Not sure it would stay in there .Or maybe put more sand in that drylock would make a difference .I know I did that to give a rough texture to concrete block on a small garden wall

You can buy grout in tubes at lowes and home depot. It works pretty nice.

Well phase 1 is finished. I found the more I messed with the painting the more I kept messing it up. The brackets holding it are just temporally.

Now phase 2 has begun. A 6x3 section. Here is the outline drawing

And the full length of it

I have been working the last couple of days cutting out the outlines and it is a long boring task

Wow that's really quite a project and will be really nice looking when done! How many phases are you doing and is it going to cover that whole wall or?
