This is something a Google search couldn’t help with. I have a whole house well water deacidification filter that I’m wondering how to use for a pond filter. The tank is huge (5 feet tall - I think it’s 2 cubic feet). On top of the tank is a Fleck auto backwash valve with 1.25” ports. It’s normally used for well water that is too acidic and the backwash filter helps rejuvenate the media since it’s really hard to refill.

I’m thinking of trying to make it a sand filter. Has anyone tried reusing a filter like this for a pond?

Welcome @Porterex !

The answer is no for myself, but I know we've had other members who've experimented with re-using pool sand filters and found that they clog very quickly when used on a pond.
