I have a 4 acre pond which has been in existence for 35 years. It was a sand pit and when excavated they hit springs. It is lovely, full of koi, bass, turtles and WEEDS. I would like to make a small area very swimming friendly. Maybe something the size of 2 very large swimming pools. The deepest part of my pond is about 17 feet - if I can just find a nice way to get out there, I would be so happy. Can anyone help me by suggesting what I might line parts of my pond with?

OttawagalCan you post photo's and be more specific on what you want to accomplish. Are you talking about making only part of the pond swim friendly? Not sure what you mean.

Welcome. A few years ago I saw on the pond tour a pond that had a small beach that was made swimming friendly. It had a lot of rock that was shipped in from the Ozarks. My suggestion would be to try to use rock to surround the area you want to swim in so to create a little cove. Maybe you can use pea gravel for the the floor of that area. Please post pictures. I'm sure everyone would like to see your pond!
