Hi TurtleMommy

Here are some pictures, I built it myself from scratch and I realise now it is too shallow, so I will change that next year!

Thank you for sharing! You did a nice job! Very pretty! In your other thread you mentioned that the pond is 1100 liters (300 gallons). Seeing pictures, it looks larger than that. What is the blue spoked wheel thing floating in the water?

It's lower volume because it is mostly shallow, with only the centre being a bit deeper.
This is why I'm concerned about winter coming.
The blue thing is a koi feeder, it simply stops the outlets floating off everywhere :) plus they all learn to come and take it in turns so I get to see each of them more closely. :)

Your pond is small enough where you can make a tent over your pond. i would make a tepee over your pond and wrap it in plastic just like a tepee though leave the top open for air exchange leave your pond heater is and your fish will be fine just remember you need to make it sturdy enough to deflect snow . i'd use 2x3's 8 foot long make the tepee off to the side of the pond then get some hlp and lift it up and place it over the pond , if you can make it so when your constructing it and putting the plastic on you can just spin the teepee on and any where you have a seam with the plastic wrap the plastic in a long piece of 1x2 and then secure it to the 2x3 this way the plastic wont go any where . it will be easier to fit your pond in a four or five leg tepee

Another option that most seem to do is span the pond with 2x4's or larger and slide plywood and a tarp obver the pond just remember to leave areas for air to get in and out like a 12'' x12'' opening onone side
