It is hard to decide at this point what to do, but reintroducing back into cold water must be done very slowly. Staying in until warmer weather would not be a bad idea. And do not totally discount the fish being a BSer. I had an Oscar that would "play dead" when he didn't get his way. Scared the crap out of me the first couple of times.
Well, he has got his own way! He happily took food this morning and will be inside for the next couple of months...
