My name is David and I live in Rochester NY.
I have 2 ponds one at my home and one at my camp.
Both on the small size (about 300 at my camp and 400 gallons at my home).
I started with the camp pond and was only intended as an addition to a garden.
This is how I got hooked on garden ponds!
I added aquatic plants and it looked great.
But there was a problem with this pond.
No electric at my camp so I converted 12 volts to 110 volts to power a small waterfall.
This worked great but over time it started to become a problem.
Mosquitoes and algae had taken a hold on this small pond and I was not there enough to care for it.
So now we clean it out (drain and refill with clean water) and sit in it with some good friends and a few beers.
Lots of fun sitting in the cool water in the hot sun (when we have some) beside the waterfall.
This worked out great for this pond but I still wanted the aquatic plants and small fish.
So last fall I installed a 400 gallon pond at my home.
Two weeks after I filled the pond the snow came and progress on it stopped.
But as of today the ice has disappeared and the snow is gone and my thoughts have returned to this project.
My knowledge of ponds is not extensive but I am not a beginner either.
I also have another hobby.
I have a website about garden ponds.
I love my website work also.
Between work, home and garden, camp, and website I have little time.
My site has 109 to 112 pages at this time.
But I always set time off for pond tours and garden tours.
I am looking forward to meeting you all.
