Underneath the spillway. The left wall appears to be covered by what looks like brick. Underneath the spillway looks like some wooden structure.

I thought the pond was empty , and I was seeing wood and brick also

HaH that first picture had me going too! Anyways I like your nice flat rocks you have all around and your spillway is looking fine spilling away :)

Look at all the extra liner you have! If you roll it under and tuck it away nice, in the future you may want to use it cause sometimes the pond dirt shifts and sometimes you just want to expand and add a new shelf for a plant, so you will have that option.

what are those big rocks? are they cement chucks?

I am going to mortar the rocks into place, so there won't be any expansion or shelf adding in the future. That excess liner will eventually be cut off

The rocks are Indian Prairie Flagstone, and they were gigantic. a couple pieces are roughly 4 inches thick, cutting them was not exactly the easiest thing I have ever done.
