Tested the 3 wire 2 pole breaker for the dryer, no neutral overload. Exactly as net info described. Red and black is 240, but......Red or black to ground or neutral shows 120. These panels and 2 pole breakers designed automatically to destribute the load, wow!!!!

I'm so excited, I'm finally getting it hoooked up the proper way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok!

Now I took all wire back and going 12/3. I run into the other guy that doesn't like 12/3 underground to 2 plugins. He said that if ever the neutral would be severed or disconnected, then that would give the red and the black 220 and fry everything. The GFI will not detect this and trigger.

OK forget that guy. Talked to the 12/3 guy and he said if neutral was severed everything would go dead. No 220 as each hot goes to different 2 gang box.

Done

My next post will be when everything completed, tested and working.

Thanks

Ok not quite done yet. Bought 12/3 house wire and 12/3 underground rated wire. Run all the wire through the conduit and through the basement up to the panel. Pvc all glued together.

Tomorrow is hookup day and test. :) :)

I went online and asked an electrician expert and he says that if no neutral in the mix, power would be reduced over all the hots. Maybe some damage. But all in all it won't kill anyone and almost never happen. Chances of it ever happening is as likely as both the brakes and steering go at same time driving.

Thanks, worked out after lots of pointers from members here. I like to do a proper job, problem is it takes me forever lol.

Nice to save that $1,000 the Electrician would have got lol

I say thank you to all!!!!!!
