Koi Fish Dying

Yes I do remember that tragic case with your parasites indeed! However this is happening every 4 weeks which is a bit slow for a parasite outbreak. Also the external saws near the tail and the tail being red still make me think it is bacterial.

As far as a koi ban in some areas, we had a small near by man made lake with 40,000 goldfish and some koi that ate the native species to extinction. They tried killing them by adding crazy chlorine levels. Still alive. Then they dropped the water level to freeze them out. Nope. Finally they added chemicals toxic to fish and that did them in. Now signs all over, Don't Dump Pet Goldfish in the lake lol.

Yes most are pond bred. I have not put many fish in.
