I live in Central California. I purchased a home with a very large and beautiful water and pond, about 1400 gallons. This year I began to add Koi. I did a lot of research before putting them into it. I just need some help at times.

Welcome!

How many koi did you add, remember they can grow to 2 feet long plus.

Are you sure about the water volume? It’s good for one koi, and unless you have very good filtration, more will end up causing water quality problems. If you already have the koi, I recommend you start researching the bog filters. This is how nature keeps water quality good when ponds are stocked heavier than man made filters can keep up.

Box weld is enfused heated material that seals to its self as its melted together very neat processes when done right, and very durable Epdm while I have epdm myself in my pond is so flexible so contorable that it would be a challange to get it to sit nice and have the contemporary look of clean lines. Definately not that epdm can't be done I have made many a water tight box with roofs.

Hello and welcome! Please post some pics! We love to see pics!

Agree that you might want to double-check your water volume (what are the dimensions of the pond, and how deep is it?). That volume of 1400 gallons is great for goldfish, but not for koi.

What kind of filtration do you have? Based on a question you asked in your other thread, “how does ammonia get out of control?” you might want to do some research on the nitrogen cycle of ponds. It’s the most basic information every pond owner (with fish) should be familiar with. Also, get a liquid water test kit (like API) and learn how to test your water. This will help you understand the relationship between the fish and having healthy water.
