It always looks like a hard job and yep the weight was the worst for me .After you get it in it goes faster than you think .Glad you made it and are happy with the results .I changed my liner in 2014 and again this past spring after a dog ripped it .I hope to never have to do it again

Lisak1..... I was kind of hesitant being I'm not as experienced as probably most here at liner ponds. Anyway here's a few, if I do it right the last one should be where I'm at today. Oh, fish were moved in Sat. from my original smaller pond. Thanks for your encouragement!!

I don't think any one can say they are experienced at liners .I have had to do mine over 4 times and every time it was different because I went bigger each time and hoping no more .

It looks GREAT! It's a real feeling of accomplishment when you are able to do it yourself... with a little help, of course!

sissy...... You have to be really experienced by now, lol. My biggest fear with liner ponds is if a leak ever develops, kind of an experience I don't want to have to learn about. That was the main reason I did the original with a small preform. I even looked at them (preform) again, but couldn't find much readily available in larger sizes. Not that this one I just did is big, but nothing much in that size even.

Lisak1.... Thank you for your kind words. You're right nothing is ever as satisfying as something you've done yourself, even if it is with guidance and suggestions from others, which again was greatly appreciated!!

If I might chime in with a suggestion. Replace the submerged flagstone with river rock or other round edge rock. During spawning, the fish get quite physical and could easily get severely damaged on the sharp edges of the flagstone.

Meyer Jordan..... I did consider some type of accidental contact with the flagstone. After cutting it, I did grind down the edges so they no longer have what would be considered a sharp edge. But after reading your post I will definitely try and find some other type of rock to replace it with. I'm actually considering taking it out for a while anyway because my one large Koi seems to want to stay under there all the time, at least while the fountain is on. Kind of surprised me as our much smaller pond had a small fountain also and the Koi (don't know if it's male or fem) never seemed to be bothered by it. In fact they all seemed to like it under the fountain spray, and the spray from the water wheel. But again thank you for bringing that to my attention, I will find a replacement.

They make custom larger ones .But mine was destroyed 2 times by a neighbors dog and once mole chewed holes in my liner .Springdale water gardens handles large ones but the shipping would cost a lot
