I also like halfoffponds.com
interesting. I checked out both of these websites and they have some pretty good deals. They compare to the Amazon deal I found however the shipping is very expensive at justliners.com, and the other one is an extra $100. so I think Amazon might be my best bet. I sent a message with the link to the liner I found on amazon but the message has to be approved first since it has a link in it.

Thank you! Yeah I have compared a few options, and I was able to find a 45 mil EDPM liner on amazon for $260 that is 15x20 and I think this should work well. I imagine this is probably similar to the best pricing I will get but I should definitely check before I commit to it.
That's a great price if memory serves right! Just make sure the seller/product is trustworthy.

Well, that makes more sense. I wasn't trying to be hard on you - just confused by your timeline. You'd be surprised by some of the things people think are possible in the pond world.

Have you used a calculator to make sure you're ordering the correct size liner? More is always better.

OK - I just re-read your intro and I'm wondering what the real story is here. You literally said I AM JUST BEGINNING MY 2000 - 2500 GALLON POND BUILD. If you are near to finishing, why would you word it that way? How do you get to ALMOST FINISHED and dont' know how big this pond is? Don't have liner? Not sure if you should use underlayment?

How about some photos so we can see what you've got going on?

I am seeing they have a EDPM 45 mil 15x20 liner for $291 which seems pretty comparable to what I found which is very nice. I am going to compare the one I found on amazon. This is the link to the one I found on amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CKNZKRWK/ref=twister_B0CL7V15VN?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Also does anyone have any ideas on what type of underlayment I should go with? I have realized I probably should go with a underlayment as well and would simple weed barrier work? I have seen quite a few different people use different solutions such as simple tarps, weed barrier, and expensive pond underlayment.
I HAVE INSTALLED a LOT of rubber over the years but i never heard of vevor

The calculators are great for a simple design........NOT NOT NOT A FAN OF ANY POND CALCULATOR. They give bare bones professionally installed and a simple did i say simple design. Save yourself some grief and aggravation if you're building a custom pond don't chinse on your liner. The extra liner that i had left outside my design shape became some of my favorite areas.

I just used anything soft for under my liner, old carpet w/o tacks, rugs, blankets, towels, cardboard etc. We have sandy soil here so that helps a lot and not many rocks.

Still waiting for @Cheems to respond to the question - where are you really in the process? And why the subterfuge. First you say "just beginning my pond build" and it's "going to be 8x12 and 36-42 inches deep". Then you say you have it all dug out and ready for the liner... which is it? And why on earth would you flip flop?

Am I the nutty one here?

She did clarify that, @Mmathis:

Sorry I realized I said I was just beginning in my original post, however I meant I was just beginning to install the liner and finish it up. Its already dug and the frame is buillt. There is only a few last steps. Plus I didnt say this was a goal to finish this by Friday, I said I was HOPING to. I have done quite a bit of research and have been planning this for the past 2 years. The last few things I have to do is set the frame in place and then apply the liner.

Sounds to me like in his/her mind, the hard work was the planning and digging and now all that's left is the easy stuff, which in their mind is the attaching the liner to half-in-ground, half-above-ground pond.

Huh, what? What did I need clarified? I’m so confused 🐢🐢

I think he means me.

And I'm still over here wondering... how do you go from "I'm just getting READY TO START" to "I meant I'm ready to put the liner in"... and your first question is how thick the liner should be?
