My dad’s lotus are dying

We have no idea why the lotus is dying. My dad put some fertilizer and iron/zinc when he first noticed the leaves turned yellow. Didn’t help at all

I am no lotus expert, but I once dumped the left over powdery stuff from the fertilizer tub into my lotus water and my leaves did exactly that - apparently too much at once. However, I've also had them turn yellow and then brown like that when I let the pot get too dry.

Honestly the plant itself appears to be ok, with nice new pads coming - looks like he may just lose a few leaves. Don't cut them off - just let them dry up and recede on their own.
