Here are some newer pictures.. Still building the dock to cover up the filter area and want to move the DIY skimmer idea to the opposite side for better circulation.

I'll take some pictures of the fish soon, went on vacation before i left and didn't install the UV light. So came home to a green pond.. Its clearing, but slowly... :)

Does the skimmer float up or down with the water level? If not, you will want to watch the water level, to make sure plenty of water is flowing for the pump.

Your pond looks great.

Thanks.. Yes the skimmer floats, so i have about a 6 inch range to work in. Its a cheap floating pool filter. I just put a big piece of filter pad in with the basket it really does get 95% of the stuff that lands in the pond before it sinks.. not bad for 20 bucks.. :)

This is how mine looks all grown out for the summer. I have three ponds all 10 years or older.

Well here are some more, but I am planning to change it even more this week.. Once i start on something i can't stop till its right..

I have learned a ton from the web an I am switching things around even more.. This is the current setup, but can't stand having all that stuff in site. So i am build my own bead filters. That eventually will be in the basement out of site.

The skimmer is a cheap floating pool filter will float up and down with the water level up to 8" inches. Got it for 20 bucks at big lots. Its the only way my pump pulls water for now.

Going to add a retro bottom drain soon. But my water is crystal clear and the skimmer gets 90% of the stuff that land in the pond. Now to just paint it so you can't see the BLUE...
