Great shots! It's amazing that there are any salmon left in this world other than farmed...

Thanks!

They only exist here because they stock Lake Michigan with hundreds of thousands of chinook and coho salmon every year. Salmon aren't even native here, and they can't reproduce in our rivers so the DNR manually collect eggs at the Root River steelhead facility, which is where I was. They're stocked solely for fishing purposes.

Regardless, it's always interesting going down to a couple of nearby rivers this time of year to see the salmon run.

Although the photos below don't really show it, fall colors are quickly disappearing in the area, so I decided to get out for another hike yesterday before they're completely gone. I'm hoping to get one more fall color hike in next week, but that depends on the weather and depends on how many leaves are still on the trees. It's also getting to the time of year where temps get cold enough that I don't feel like hiking, so I'm hoping the weather will cooperate enough for me to get a few more good hikes in before winter takes over.

Happy Autumn to ponders everywhere! It’s a beautiful mess.
Your pond looks so pretty in Fall too! Yep we are in a mess of leaves everywhere and the temps are so low. Was not even up in the 30's this morning up here. So bright and sunny tho............................ahhhhhhhh, remember that nice warm stuff just a few weeks ago?
