Ponding can be exciting, but also heartbreaking if not done correct. Take you're time, a few minutes reading articles here will help minimize poor results and disappointments. I too started keeping fish in an aquarium, I enjoyed it but seemed never satisfied, always wanted more, more plants, more fish, more water! Seems the pond has satisfied my itch. You too will enjoy ponding.

Ok, then as long as you keep the pond well aerated for now your fish will be fine.
What do you have for filtration?

So that means it has a foam filter .You may need more than that as the fish grow .In the winter I use a crate or flower pot with my pump in it and lava rock in it .Lava rock filters are old fashioned but they work .
