Hello to all
My name is Ruben Miranda
Live in Whittier So. California
Married with twin Girls and 3 GrandChirdren 2 of them are twins

I have 2 ponds whith Koi and Turttles
I also have a 100 gallon fish tank inside.
Not new to fish keeping but I can always learn something new.

I am not new to fish forums
But this is my first Pond forum
It is nice to find this forum it looks very nice

Right now I am in the process of making the lower pond bigger and deeper
this is for a couple of reasons
my Koi have gotten to big and need the room
the main reason is I had a racoon problem last year and had to build this ugly cage arownd my lower pond to keep him out.

WeLcOmE! I'm Colleen from Canada, or you can call me the "mad hatter" from Medicine Hat, Alberta! It sounds like I got something similar to what you got going on, but I have three ponds, top, middle and bottom, and I keep the biggest fish (koi) in the top & middle ponds and smallest in the bottom pond. Water is pumped from bottom to top, and circulates and runs all winter long.

I'm always redigging them bigger every five to ten years or so. Been running the ponds for over 20 years now. Never had any raccoons yet, no turtles either, but I did have a blue heron last year that ate lots of small fish in the bottom pond, but I fixed that problem with strips of cloth tied to strings, dangled high above the pond.

welcome and guessing twins run in your family are they all girls .Koi do get very large and need lots of filtering and are fussy fish .Mine in 8 years are around 2 feet long .

My biggest Koi are around 2 feet now they are about 10 years old my smallest might be 8 inches or so but they are younger and the babies of my 2 biggest Koi.
One big happy famliy.
