New Pond build, At the Log Cabin

A update as to the few changes made, temps are starting to drop, plants are dying back, doing some work of the back wall behind the Koi pond water fall getting ready to start digging out the filter pit. Moved the barrel filter and kettle pot behind the shop and will be using it as a QT tank/hospital tank/ nursery as needed. And then out Thanksgiving day Bon Fire, Lit it at 2pm on Thursday afternoon, 7 days later it was still burning! I'll make sure and post pics of after the fire soon to see how different it looks after burning all the debris and smoothing out the land afterwards.

Got the new spot lights installed this weekend, took the cage out of the big pond and installed LED accent lighting in the bridge. had the camera out some this weekend and the koi were up and posing.

Picked up some new gals to add to the herd. All four were born May of 2012.

Was looking back through the showcase journal and noticed a few fish I hadn't added to the showcase but have been in the pond for a while now.

#4 is Ms. Dixie and Ms Herbert just before releasing into the pond after QT

Time for some spring updates. Bog is filling in really nice, water is really clear and the fish are looking great and producing little ones.

Been a month since a update on the ponds. Not much different right now other than the lily growth and Bog growth. Time for some thinning out in the bog!

Finally back trying to get the filter room for the main pond done. Got all the drain lines buried and connected so I can now drain both ponds down the hill and not out into the yard like I have been doing. The filter room is tied to the drain line so that the new sieve can be back flushed too. Water lines have been run and the building should start going up next week. Filter system is scheduled to arrive next week. Getting closer.

After a month in QT, the two shiro's were scraped, scoped, measured and released in the main koi pond this afternoon.

Started putting the new filter room walls up today. Almost all the framing is done.

Little more progress, Dry fitting the filtration in, water is run and electricity is due to be hooked up this week.
