Them wasp bits are the worst I would say, I remembered when the wasp bit my toe, it hurt for days after that.

Sounds like a few of you have too many fish these days, I had that problem, but some snake must have pigged out on my small fish from my bottom pond cause it looks like half are now missing! The last two years I have noticed grass snakes hanging out in my yard, saw them in the bottom pond but could not catch them cause them were quick to disapear in the tall sedges.

Now I won't have to worry about thinning out the fish....

It looks like I might get some decent seeds this year from the lotus, if I do I will offer them up to anybody who wants them. They have always been shrunk and skinny seeds, this year they look really plump. You can see the size of the seeds where the dragon fly is sitting.

I am interested in trying some lotus seeds if they come available. Maybe here in Tennessee the weather will be good to grow them.
If they stay plump I will send you a some of each lotus. Every year till now the seeds form but are skinny little things that won't grow. Right now they are looking real fat and healthy.

Colleen, the only thing I protect my fish from is the heron, it would damage my liner with the beak and would stick around until the pond is empty. I still have plenty of water room, will see what happens in the future. My pond in arizona balanced out, never got over populated.

Thanks addy. My other female fish ( wasn't sure ) spawned yesterday. She wasn't even fat with eggs but there are plenty sticking around. Not much foamy, stinky stuff don't know if they got fertilized. They are just loving having all the teenagers out of the house!! I cant wait either. I have a few more years if nobody moves back in.!!!!

I never see foaming stinky stuff, but then again not sure if goldfish spawning would do that. They spawn a lot, constantly lol

Yep she keeps looking for it after it melts, then gives up. I do have a laser light! Going to try that. She is very attentive, you move one thing and she barks at it until we put it back where it was.

The next hoot is the aquarium, I put in some small fish, tropicals.........oh my she went crazy. Will post later lol. Hope not boring you with our little love.............

131.JPG130.JPG This is my foamy stinky pond. The male sperm is what stinks!! The little shiny things on liner are dried eggs that got splashed as they went thru my lily

She is pretty quiet, except right now barking her head off at me to go and play in the yard with her.

Wow that is some foam, I have never seen that!

I never get tired of looking at the cute things the critters do addy. They keep us amused and laughing from their silly playtimes. Bring on more of the Missy Monster Madness Musings :claphands:

Wow gg I have never seen anything like it! There is so much of that foamy stuff its unreal! I'm not sure I have ever noticed the foam at all in my pond. I have seen them spawning flying all around and ramming up against stuff but never the foam. I'll have to pay closer attention and see if I notice it next time they start their rampaging.

Yes, I did smell that funny smell this year, my friend who had big koi that used to spawn in her pond, said you can smell them having sex, cause it smells extra fishy. I think for the longest time I just had the two big female koi that never bred until I moved some of the smaller koi from the middle pond to the top pond, and then they started to chase and made a big mess in my wool grass bull rush this year as well. I did notice a some foam this year as well and wondered about that too.

Addy, I love you puppy stories and can relate to that as I too just love my old puppies very much as well, but they are just so darn cute when they are just little puppies..,. You better keep a close eye out for her cause I hear that some bad people look to steal such cute small puppies.

Im glad im not the only one that has smelled that! I start looking for eggs just as soon as I smell it. I also look at my lilly to see if it is messed up. I just cant believe how many times a spring and summer this happens!
