Your pond is awesome! Can't wait to get plants growing around my pond but that is a real challenge, I have deer that are around most of the time and it doesn't matter what I plant. When I plant deer resistance I know there is a chance they will still eat it and my deer here do. :(

It sure does LOL ... Cant do much around the pond right now ... we still need more rocks, and hubby wants to redo half the bog ... so for now, I am back to the yard ... did a bit of mulch today ... also had to go by a jobsite, and came out of there with a grocery bag full of grape hyacinths (love this client) .. hubby just popped in and left me some more daffodil bulbs ... sitting here thinking about where to put them LOL. Thinking of putting them all next to the pond, even tho the rock work isnt done yet LOL.

Love the Grape Hyacinths I've found growing in my yard! I dig up each and every one of them I find. They are sooo easy to transplant.
Love your pond, SMM! Everything has grown out so very nicely and beautifully. Very natural. I don't remember seeing the small pond to the side of your pond. Is that new, or does it connect with your pond somehow? What is in it? I'm probably just looking at it wrong, but it looked somewhat detached for your other big pond. BTW, I keep wondering how large of a piece of liner you had to have for your pond! It looks VERY large!

Hi Patty, No the little pond is seperate, nothing lives in it except frogs--blue frogs since Anne keeps blue dye in it to control algae and she likes the look of the blue water. The liner was 25x30 and the pond is 14x15 by 5 and half foot deep. I have the long side of the liner under the stairsteps of the waterfall all the way to the skippy filter to prevent any potential leakage from the waterfall, works like a charm so far.

My brother hauled a big boulder out of Dad's Timber and paid someone to have his name and house number engraved into it then set it at the end of his driveway--I really liked it but am too tight to pay an engraver (probably should read TO BROKE--I have 2 kids in College) so I took a big Rock I had and wheel barreled it to the end of my driveway, then went to Walmart and bought a paint brush, gold paint and a can of clear cote for 10 bucks and painted my name on it, then attached a bear sign to the top. I like it just as well, and I saved a 100 bucks. I especially like that the bear sign flips around for when I'm grouchy and don't want company, LOL

Ha, Ha Colleen, that lovely plant under water is 4 of my wife's artifical christmas wreaths. My retired neighbor used to be a Koi Keeper and when he saw that I had several female Koi swelled up with eggs he wanted me to cut my evergreen bushes down and throw them in the water for the Koi to spawn on. I like my Koi but I like my landscapeing too, and wasnt going to sacrifice one for the other, so I figured, who needs christmas wreathes in May? If they spawn on them I will pressure wash them later and she can have them back by Christmas, LOL.
