If it did not overwhelm my gardens, quickly and constantly, I would not care if it was in the grass. They say it does not like full hot sun, it grows great in full hot sun, in shade, under plants, over plants, up my ornamental grasses, in the berry bushes, on and on. Most of my yard is full hot sun. I have maybe 1/100 of yard in shade, under a few trees, not counting under the "wild" woods in the back that I never go into.

I pulled all the ludwigia from the stream and waterfall areas, and now I can see some water in with the parrots feather! It was super easy to pull, too. Just grabbed the top of the plant, and pulled it out. Came out roots and all. If any is left behind, I'm not worried. I liked that it grew early and fast, to shade the water and help get the water cycled this spring, but now it was crowding the parrots feather, which I think is much prettier. I liked the way the ludwigia bloomed pretty yellow flowers, but now the Japanese beetles were munching on it, which was a good thing, as they stayed away from other desirable plants, but now I'm just tired of it. Waterfall and stream look much nicer, still "full" as lots of parrots feather growing in there, but I can see water now, too. Invasive plants can be nice, as long as you can control them if/when needed.

Thanks Addy, Sissy, I know what you mean about Hosta's--my favorite plant too , I have 80 as of this year, I keep dividing them and buying them when I find them on sale. I have plants my mom & dad gave me years ago as well as Plants that were my deceased Grandmother's and my deceased Aunt's and plants that were dug up from Annes deceased great Grandmothers and her Fathers Farm--when we move they move with us, a great way I believe to feel close to family members that have passed, in a way it feels like they live on thru their plants. Same with my Grandfathers Boulders and Rocks, Ive moved them 4 or 5 times since I was 18, I'm 51 now and if I move again they are going with me, even though its harder for this old body to move some of the big ones like I did at 18, LOL.

I was raised with large farm dogs and always had 1 or 2 around until we moved here. Large dogs would be a pain in the butt here so we ended up with 2 little ankle biters, the jack russel 8 years ago and this half breed, watchamaycallit 4 years ago. Turns out they have both been great companions, great watchdogs and 2 of the bravest little turds I've ever seen.

That second pic is cute, looks like they are hugging, and the jack russel is telling the other one a secret!
I have tall sedum my grandmother gave to me before she moved to a nursing home. I think I have had them for about 16 years. I move some with me when I divorced to rental house, and then to my house now. I will take a start of them wherever I move, if I ever move again.
