I use the bag type pool nets (not the skimmer type nets). With these, all I have to buy is the net attachment because I already have the expanding pole. I have repaired them with heavy sewing thread. But eventually they are so bad I just toss them. I use hand-me-downs from my pool. This way my pool gets a new one and the pond gets a lightly used one.

My hand skimmer was coming apart, I used a tube of silicone rubber to glue it. Worked good.

I replaced my netting on my pole net w/the fiberglass screen door material they sell at Lowes or Home Depot. Comes in rolls. Worked quite well. That white plastic comes off and then just fits right back on over the new stuff. Easy, peasey!
