Savio skimmer box leak

HEllo all, fine start for the year I'm having. Noticed the water level was dropping more than evaporation loss. Was marking it each day and it finally has dropped below the skimmer faceplate. This is when I noticed the water level dropping in the skimmer box itself. What the hay? These Savio skimmers were supposed to withstand our winters. Not sure yet how big the crack is. What is the repair method for a crack, pvc caulking or a patch, etc?

I put pool noodles in mine for the winter so there is some give during the freezing, this may help you to avoid additional cracks.

I checked and looks like the other skimmer box is leaking as well but slower.

Funny, 5 year warranty runs out Aug 2014. I just made it, wow. Now the battle to get it replaced for free is on.

I was told to keep them filled with water for the winter, so the freezing is inside and out so no room to move or crack. Might be wrong info? lol. With my luck the thing will be leaking bottom corner!

The store I bought them from has shut down. I hope if I send photos of the damage that will be enough for them to send replacements before I send these back. Otherwise my pond could be down for a month or more.

Just checked now and one Skimmer box is 90% empty and one is 2/3 empty.

Savio has come through with warranty replacements for both skimmers. They were great to deal with and after I showed them photos of the cracks it was no problem.

Good for you, as I said I had very good luck with Savio in the past. They stand behind their products.
