Hi Guys,

So. The latest update.

The Koi handler came today, and did a scraping and looked under the microscope. He didn't see anything, so he thinks it's a fungus.

So we put him in a salt bath. After a few minutes loads of the fungus started to come off. I'm going to leave it a few days now and then treat him again. The fish is still quite active, so hopefully we caught this in time.

Thanks for all the advice. :)

cheers,

Andy.

Thanks. Me too.

Actually, reading my last post, i just want to make it clear, it was the fish we put in the salt bath, not the Koi guy ;)

cheers,

Andy.
Glad you cleared that up, Andy! :cheerful:

Hi Guys,

Latest update - after 2 salt baths 90% of the fungus has gone.

The wounds that were visible after the first salt bath have also started healing up, and the Koi is more lively and active. Seems we caught this in time. :)

Thanks for all the help.

cheers,

Andy.

Hi,

The advice i got from the supplier was 200g Salt in 20 litres of pond water. Left the fish in that for 20 minutes. And repeat every 3-4 days.

Actually, the pond has been frozen over most of the time since last posted, and when i checked the fish at the weekend the would seems to have got a bit worse, and the fungus had spread slightly. I'm treating him again. He still seems active though, and so far i haven't seen this on any others.

cheers,

Andy.
