Starting lotus seeds

Yah! all but one of mine are finally growing. They are all in small preformed ponds that froze solid.

I have one small variety, saw a lotus leaf coming up in the middle of the small loop pond and it was the crazy lotus, it grew out of the bottom of the pot. The tuber was floating loose with a leaf. I really am surprised they handled being frozen like a ice cube. I had left a few lilies in those ponds, only 6 inches below water surface, they are coming back wonderfully. While I was waiting for those ponds to melt I stuck my hand down under the ice to find the bottom it was the bottom of the pond.
