The fish have been moved inside. Got up Saturday morning and started. Had to move many rocks, then laid out the stakes. These are the first pictures of this. As I progress, I will have more pics. I'm going from 2200 gallons to 8085. 11 x 28 x 3.5. Trying to beat winter, so having to work quickly! At this point, considering a mini excavator because this is as far as I got by hand.

Cheers!
Mike

Looking good, keep going. Sure looks like nice soil, I dug my 3000g by hand in clay and sandstone. Bad combination.

If you're trying to beat winter, you may need the excavator, though.

Good exercise! Your soil looks nice, I can't even put a plant in the ground here without a pick.
That is a nice rebuild you are doing.

I am impressed you are hand digging it all. We used other equipment and it still took us weeks to complete it all and I was dead tired by the time I was done. I guess some people just have more energy than myself. :(

So it's been awhile, after hand digging and not making it very far, i've always done the digging myself. Taking pride in my work, but I finally decided that this hole was to big. Finally decided to rent a mini x, and my brother-in-law that works in the bush, came over and dug the hole for us. Everyone came over and tried it out. Lol, it's amazing how good a person, whos done this for 20 years is, even on something so small. It has rained all week and finally got out to level two sides of the top of the pond. To tired to re-size pictures of the hole being dug, but heres some after tonight. Hopefully the rain will hold off this weekend so i can get the edge done. Here is some pictures.

Cheers, Mike.

Looking good there, very nice view from your deck. Glad you got help digging, even with my tractor it seemed to take forever. But I was also learning how to use it and digging on a darn slope.

Try just uploading your photos, that is all I do and they are re-sized automatically. Most of my pictures are 2000 x 1600 1.5 MB or so. They upload nicely.
