Time for new waders for both myself and my wife.

I see them ranging from about $50 to $200. We will be looking at wallmart and TSC Tues or Wednesday .

I was wondering if anyone had suggestion on what to buy or avoid. Or maybe nobody else uses them for pond work.

My last pear wore out on the soles because I did not have anything over them. Looking at some size 14 slip over rubbers for that on amazon.

My neighbor gave me a pair, I use them when that water is just toooooooooo darn cold for my tender, loves warm water body. No clue where he got them from, they are too big, but work just fine.

Assuming you're using them only for your pond, I'd go with Walmart neoprenes, or ones that are similarly priced ($60-$90). If you get stocking foot ones, buy the cheapest pair of shoes you can find to go over them to protect the boots of the waders. They make shoes designed specifically for waders, but they will add another $35, and you should be able to find cheap shoes for a third that price.

Most waders are compromised due to heavy use fishing and/or hunting; brush, sharp rocks, ripping on thorns, etc. Make sure to hang them to dry instead of throwing in a corner, and dry them out of direct sunlight. There is no reason they shouldn't last for years.

Yup pond only and wallmart looks to be the affordable choice. Thinking the slip over rubbers for my size 14 feet. Will look at the neoprenes.

It turns out that waders are seasonal items and the local wally world does not have any.

They will have to be ordered from the internet.

I ordered mine through Cabela's online. Don't know how much they were because it's been to long, but I'm cheap so they probably were too. No problems with them at all and used them for four seasons now.
