Set up a trail am; could be raccoons, otter, mink, bullfrog, Sasquatch...

When was the last time you saw it? It looks more like decay than being eaten. Turtles will eat fish. Second the trail cam idea.

@Greenlee Hello, welcome, and so sorry for your loss! Can you give us some more information about your fish. Was this one found on the ground like this, or was it in the water? How big is your pond?

Awww... bummer. It could be any of the above mentioned critters or even a neighborhood cat. I would rule out the dreaded heron though - they are more of a one bite and swallow type eater. Or a stab it and leave it type hunter.

Yep they toss in the air and swallow it down, the herons, they never pick the meat off.
