I haven't seen my fish in a long time. My pond is iced over and has at least a foot of snow on it.:( There is an opening about a foot. I had to shovel off 21 1/2 inches of snow off my deck a little over a week ago. I'm so ready for summer! Currently 24.

Suppose to get up to 56 today and in the 50's all weekend! yahhh! It was 48 here yesterday and I went out to cut down some of my grasses that I didn't get cut last fall (they were to pretty) and the hops we have growing on the fence. The fish were swimming around in the pond where I can see them in the open ice. May just go out and take a video of them enjoying the sun. My son noticed there is of course moss growing in the pond...argh oh well nothing I can do about it now, hopefully the fish will keep it mowed down.I really didn't see many (if any) of my baby fish from last year, but then again I really wasn't looking for them lol. Hope they didn't get eaten by their parents! I gave away about 20 babies and I took 15 of the babies to my daughters to put in my 70 gallon aquarium she has there on her back porch, so if they did get eaten I guess we still have some. Although, I know they will make us more come spring :O Hopefully our bullfrog will be back to continue his population control...sad but thats nature!
Sissy sorry to hear, my mother was like that when she became ill and told me when we were alone "they are coming for me soon I saw them"....when I asked her who "they" were she said the angels....

Sorry sissy for what your sisters MIL and her are having to go through. Not a happy time for them. We all must go through it and we know it will come some day but we sure don't enjoy it at all. Saddest times in our lives.

Rained all morning and then the sun came out and I got to go for a dry walk. Neighbor got burglarized last night. They broke the window of his truck out and got the garage door opener and went through the garage into the house. Never leave a garage door opener out in your car.

Yikes, that's scary about the neighbor getting his truck broken into, then using the garage door opener to get into the house. I guess a thief will figure out stuff like this, though.
Colleen, your little Rio is adorable, and Poppy is fat as always! My little Kea is laying on my lap, and I'm sure she weighs more than your little Rio. LOL She's a chunk.
Sissy, sorry to hear, but your words are every so true. We should not be sad when older people want to "go home", because they lived a good life, and are tired and ready to go to heaven. My grandma lived to be 104, and she was alert the whole time. She had dementia, don't get me wrong, she could not remember sometimes what happened that morning, but she could tell you things from the past that would amaze you, too! Always knew who we all were, even when I lived so far away, and didn't get to see her but a couple of times a year. I remember her saying, "It's not fair that I have lost 4 of my 5 kids before I die." She is with them all now. :)

I had to train dear honey to lock doors here, he still does not lock car doors, we are pretty darn rural, sort of safe I finally told him I could not sleep if doors were unlocked.

I never locked anything when I was married. Found it very difficult to get into the habit here, too. Then thieves robbed 3 houses on election day about 4 years ago, one of the houses was less than 2 miles from my house. They just walked in. And, Jehova Witness peeps left one of their flyers IN my back sliding door! The way they left it, I knew they had opened the door. So, after that, I lock all doors when I leave or go to bed. Joe is retired police officer, he is anal about locking everything! He won't even sleep with windows open in his house. In fact, he would go around and close/lock all windows just to go to the store for 30 minutes. Here, he is ok with it, since no one knows him here (i.e., people he has pissed off during his police career!). Told him in the spring and fall, if I can't have windows open, I would die. LOL

Not cold really but wet stuff still hanging over us as usual.

Locking everything up and on high alert. It was a white suv w/ a lady standing there by her car door looking at a cell phone and flicking her hair back. My hubby saw her but thought she was just a visitor. Maybe her guy was there too but hubby just could not see him. They had to see my hubby too or at least the light my hubby flipped on when he walked out to his shop near them. Some of us are wondering if it might be his wife's great grandkid that had asked him for money and was refused it cuz she didn't pay him back before. There are some funny coincidences. How did they know the old guy and his wife were not home that night? If they would have went to the front door to knock first to see if someone answered, the big German shepherd would have barked and I would not go inside a house w/a dog like that that didn't know me. So I think they knew him and didn't go to the front door, just went through the garage. And when they did meet the big dog why did they leave him in the house? The dog is the kind of dog that wants to run out of the house and it jumps on you constantly and is very friendly once you are in the house. I would have thought they would have been very annoyed by that constant jumping and just let it out.
