Today is 33 Fahrenheit, about 1 Celsius. Not to cold, considering it is January, but damp and overcast today. Me and my

look at cute rio in her little coat .66 degrees and it is 4:30 pm and got the old trim off the back of the guest house and new trim and gutters up.Had to use 1 of the extension ladders sideways to hold 1 end of the 12 ft long boards up while I walked the other end up and put one screw in so I could go back to the other end and get that up in place .Funny how inventive you become when you have to do things by your self .Well my sisters mother in law passed away last night and may have to take her chihuahua in .Problem is he is very nasty and bites and not sure how i am going to control him .Gotta get hints on what to do .My sister said no one wants him and she is afraid to take him since she has 2 big dogs .The rest of the family said take him to the shelter .I would never let that happen of course ,I would figure something out .Not sure what I can do to break him ,maybe just love

Seems where ever you live there are challenges at one time or the other .We step up and do the best we can with what we have and what we can get .Right now our winter has been warmer than normal and happy for it .I am not sure I could handle Colleens winters though .I don't mind winter as long as it does not get below 40 degrees .:)Bring the sun on .

Welcome, Slick! We always enjoy having new pond friends join this forum. It will be fun to see what your pond looks like. Feel free to post a few pics on here, or let us know if you start your own thread with pics of your ponds. We LOVE to see pics of other people's ponds. Wow, over 5' deep? That's quite a hole! Most of us have 3-4' deep ponds, and that's enough for our weather. We are learning from each other what works for during the winter time. Several of us have the weather banner on the bottom of our posts, so you can see what our temps are both F and C!
No snow for us in the next 10 days, and I'm happy happy HAPPY! This has been a very warm winter, after they threatened us with "colder temps than last winter", which would have been horrendous! Oh, we have had single digits (F temps), but not for too long of a time period. Above freezing for the next 10 days, or so they say right now. I'll take that!

31 here right now and misting/icing/doing SOMEthing outside. Not a bit of ice is on the pond. Maybe it's just me, but the water from the falls and the water hitting the pond sounded super loud today. Maybe I'm used to it being a little quieter when it's flowing underneath ice. Who knows.

High temps in the 30s for the next week or so, lows in the 20s. Another de-icer-free week in the works. :)
