Lets get rid of the Asian lady bugs as well. I have scooped up over 60 this winter from the window sills. Darn cats won't touch them cause they stink too!

How did the hole get there, Colleen?

Abrasion, UV?
The hole really is not actually a hole, it is up top where the liner is nailed down to top of "top" pond". After many many years, the ground settles and the liner is pulled more taunt. What has happened is that the liner is pulling away from top of landscaping tie on top pond. Top pond has a square shape and built up about four landscaping Ties. It had been slowly pulling away more and when the flow is great to top pond, the water level goes up and starts to seep out that section. Not a big deal right now, but I think the liner is close to 20 years old in that pond, so maybe time to slip in new liner and be done with it.

We are in for a week of great temps. Mid 40s to almost 60. Finally!!!
Pond is slowly melting. About 1/4 open now. Water looks a bit murky. Have not seen all my fish for quite awhile now so anxious to see if I have lost any this winter.
Melt pond melt!
Still have snow on the ground to melt. Anywhere it drifted or piled up but by the end of next week I suspect most will be gone. :)

The melt is on! The sun is out... it's already 40 degrees here, going up to 45 later on. I unplugged the high-watt de-icer yesterday with GREAT joy. Now my electric bill can recover...at least until we start running the air conditioners (which could be a month from now...even if it's not super-warm outside, we have to keep the windows closed due to spring pollen allergies, and we usually run the a/c just to keep the air in the house from getting stuffy.)

Yup! I'm SO glad things are melting. We had a sloppy bit of weather on Tuesday--it got warm enough for some of it to melt, and we had freezing rain...but it created a glaze of ice all over EVERYTHING and we were stuck with it because the temperatures stayed below freezing all week until today.

You will be free soon and I see you are up to 48f now. We are only at 36 right now so you have us beat now. We have bright sunshine but it's taking us awhile each morning to warm up. By noon it will be perfect.

41°F and sunny. It feels unbelievably nice out! I stood out by the pond for a little while with nothing to do or look at but I had to enjoy it. Sunshine and warm temps is an amazing thing.

All next week is supposed to be in the 40°s too! Now if only all this snow would melt so I could properly enjoy it.
