Hello again,

I’m looking at my new wooden pond and think it would look great with a stain or sealant of some kind. Has anyone used one on their wooden ponds or anything above their ponds, such as decking or bridges? I worry about rain water causing chemicals from the stain to drip into the water. However, I wonder if once it is cured and dry it’s no longer an issue. Thanks!

Looks like you have cedar as the water fall ok to stain now. but the pressure treated lumber you want to wait to stain the chemicals are leaching from the wood for the next 6 months to a year at which time is when you want to stain. Any deck stain / house stain will work just fine but i would stay away from stain/ paints
