Could not be happier finding these little guys. I was actualy walking down the walk between the pond and the garage and I saw this little guy. No camera of course. So I picked him up and brought him/her to the pitcher plant bog where there are always bugs.

Oh. My. Gosh. Just adorable! Have you seen the mom around at all?
I have seen turtles around the pond but it has been a couple years we had two hang around for one of them for 3 or 4 months but I was just told my neighbor has a family of Fox hanging under his shed it's no more than 150 feet from my pond. Gee where did all my frogs go. Not that I am complaining I have tons of frogs lepods green and bull frogs. I just did a video with 5 in a 4 foot area sunning them selves. . Life is good. Amazing what you can find when your not working for a living!

Very cool! It's almost been a year since I found baby turtles in my yard, I guess I should start watching my step again just in case there are more this year. They're easy to miss because of the small size.

The mom finished her job being a mom when she laid the eggs and buried them last year. Now they're all on their own!

I'ts amazing and disturbing at the same time as the eastern box turtle in your area are all over the place. i have been on jobs here in ct, ri, even Ny where if we found one on the project the entire project had to stop call the turtle man and they had to do a complete sweep of the area to make sure there were no more in the area. Yet other areas there are so numerous they have signs permanently affixed on the side of the road with turtle crossing that are hinged so during the breeding season they can just flip up the sign.
Actualy now that i think abut it Md was a bit strict, not only were turtles protected but so were timber rattle snakes, very nasty and large snakes they look like they are ready for a fight.
The eastern box is actually what the native indians use to mimic and paint there horses and goods
