ok so i drained my pond yesterday after bleaching it and now im waiting for the rest of the water to evaporate because i cannot syphon anymore water out of it

shouldnt a cup of bleach in my pond kill everything
400 gallons to 1 cup of bleach

then i bleached it again with about 50 gallons and a 1/4 cup

shouldnt that kill everything

well i didnt

a ramshorn snail lived through both bleaches

so now im afraid that the bleach didnt kill the virus

I can't speak for snails, but the virus should be toast if everything was saturated in bleach.

my mom said that when she cleans she uses 1/4 cup of bleach to 1 gallon of water

so im not sure if thats to bleach the stains out of the sink or just disinfecting

Bleach is cheap, so you might want to repeat this with a higher concentration. I know to kill black mold, the ratio is 10 to 1. your concentration was not 10%.

thats a lot of bleach 40 gallons!!!
im just going to use pool chlorine and make a 2 to 4 ppm solution basically pool water

No one said you had to fill it! Take a concentrated solution and a sponge or mop and go over it. Then hose it out and let it dry. 1 gallon of mix should do it. For hard to get to places use a spray bottle.

thats what im going to do when i get home from SD this week
