I always tell people who LOVE birds to build a pond. I’ve seen species of birds I only use to see in books flock to my pond.

The winter season can be a challenging time for both the birds and the birder. As a true friend of the birds, it is essential for me to show them that I care and I will help them provide for their needs, particularly water.
Hello and welcome! Nature is wonderful! Do you have a pond?

I like to leave some of my sturdier bird bathes open all year for the birds here. It doesn't freeze much so the water is most always available for them.
I have a round heavy flat cement paver inside the bottom of it to hold it in place and so the birds have a place to stand that is not deep. My hubby carved a rounded hole in that stump so it sits just right on there also. Birds like to have trees around for safety from other predatory birds while drinking or bathing also.
