Besides my pond bog, I have installed two carnivorous plant bogs. Carnivorous plants like acidic water, which our well is.
The one near the stream is a 300 gallon rubbermaid container.
The one in the front of our house is a 1000 gallon stock tank.
Both tanks I half filled with dirt rock mix, with the ability to drain excess water, if we have excessive rain the bogs can be drained if need be. The plants like wet feet dry crowns, periods of wet and dry.
After the install of the dirt, I placed left over liner on top of the dirt. That was covered with a 50/50 (well as close as possible 50/50 mix of peat moss and sand.
The plants have been growing in our sun room ,eating any bugs that showed up.
Mix of pitcher plants
A cobra pitcher plant, the pitcher looks like a cobras head with a forked tongue.
