Yes, thank heavens for the Pondbreather ! I plugged mine in right before this cold snap, in addition to the aerator.

@Tula is the cover still keeping the ice off your pond in this cold?

Was just outside filling bird feeder and peeked under the cover. There are some areas with a small amount of ice, oddly, around the Pondbreather and an airstone. Other then those areas, completely open.

Beautiful pond @cas! All your amazing in ground ponds are making me want to dig up my backyard and put one in, but it would take up SO much space. Maybe one day I'll have a nice big yard so I can have a huge pond with koi.

we were suppose to have the same CAS but I guess we are going to get lucky again and have the weather stay to the south.

If mother nature doesn't give me a break and soon she's going to reclaim the big hole I dug for the pond. I already lost a foot and a half in depth . sure I could dig it out but throwing dirt up 8 feet out of the hole is more work then I care for a 6'-6" deep pond works for me. A t least I keep telling myself that.

@GBBUDD , the spring I built my pond, twice it rained and totally filled the pond - before I could get the liner in. Mother nature loves a good laugh.
Waiting anxiously to see you working on that hole again. :)

I think this is the coldest temperature it has been when I have started up my pump - 34 degrees F on April 1. Ugh. I really didn't want to wait any longer to get the pump going because the water was starting to get cloudy. Couldn't see the fish. After having the pump on for 15 minutes, all the fish came up to say 'hi'. All are accounted for. Whew. Made it through one more winter. Here is the pond once I got the pump going. See the fish in the upper right hand corner? That is where they get fed. :)

So glad all of your babies made it through the winter!
My pond has been running, but only yesterday my fish actually begged for food for the first time since last Fall
