Got the trap. Captured 5 fry and 3 minnows heh.

The fry appear shubunkin and comet fry. I think many are gonna be mostly white with some black. Sounds like my opal shubunkin had been busy.

I'm dreading keeping this tank. Water changes from now till march.... Eeewwww.

Yep, it's a lot of work! I told my hubby to NEVER let me try to raise fry again!

Collected 9 fries so far..... I hear you aren't supposed to keep fish with a single anal fin. Every single one of them seem to have a single anal fin.....

Get rid of all? mmm.. Any opinion on this?

For me, I can not keep fry, as I'd be overstocked. Not saying they couldn't be kept in the aquarium, but it might be worth rehoming them now, so they can get established in their new pond before winter. JMO.

I found a pond for them... Funny, it was my wife who told me about our friends who are renting a house who has a pond and the owner took out all the koi because he wanted them to be moved to his new home.

I'm gonna be filling that pond with baby goldfish :). Happy ending story. Still gonna keep best 7.

Perfect, love a happy ending :) I'm going to have to think about the minnow trap for next summer. Where did you buy your and do you bait it? Does it have any sharp edges?
