Ive seen it alot with polypropylene and other type of liners that claim if they are covered their lifespan is prolonged greatly. Can the same be said for EPDM? I see EPDM already has a by far greater warranty / lifespan with no mention of being covered.

I've heard pond people say they've pulled out EPDM liners while doing rebuilds that were 25 to 30 years old in perfect condition.
Epdm is a 40 year roofing product if left out in direct sunlight Uv. is it worst enemy but even at that it holds up very well. if you completely cover the liner with a second underlayment layer inside the pond and install rocks insuring it never sees the sun again its life span is almost limitless
