hi,

i'm a newbie to this "koi-pond" world.. i want to build a koi-pond (i plan to build a 25ft x 12ft pond), and i still have less clue about the best filtration system.. i've asked around, and they said my pond should have both filter chamber and bakki shower... but is it possible to just have a huge bakki shower without filter chamber? the bottomline is, what is the best filtration system for my pond?

thanks...

Welcome to the forum.
I'm not sure if we have any Bakki Shower folks here. You might share your research here and educate us on this system.

it would be hard to incorporate a bakki shower into a " natual look" pond... is that what your doing or are you going formal?

i think from what ive read about bakki showers is you have to have some kind of pre filter ... the ones ive seen have been mounted away from the pond and piped back to the pond (that way you can hide them )

I use an up filter with lava rock buffer pads I found at Lowes in the floor care section and I think my pond is very clear . I soak the lava rock in liquid barley for a couple of days and I have a tote that I bought in walmart and cover it with rock to hide it in the waterfall area and have not lost one fish in 5 years
